Who Am I?
In the book of Galatians, St. Paul writes: “As proof that you are children, God sent the spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!” So you are no longer a slave but a child, and if a child then also an heir, through God.”
“Abba” in Aramaic translates to “father,” “dad,” or “daddy.” It’s one of the first words a child in the Middle East learns to say. “Heir” means successor to the throne. This passage tells us that we are children of God, and we have a share in His kingdom.
Essentially, this means that you are a prince or a princess of the Kingdom of the God.
But that only answers who you are in a very general sense. Each person is unique. You have unique talents, gifts, a unique personality, and a one-of-a-kind story.
The key is finding how you can use your specific qualities to serve as an awesome prince or princess in this kingdom.
Why is there Suffering in the World?
When God made the world, He made it good. Genesis says that he saw what He had made and saw that "it was good."
Humans had perfect relationship with one another, perfect relationship with God, and perfect relationship with the Earth.
They were given just one rule to follow, which they broke. Instead of a life with God, Adam and Eve chose their own path, and in doing so, established a gap in humanity's relationship with God.
As a result, we live now in a "gray" world. We are still good; we are still beloved. But we are also broken. In this life, we experience now good and evil, joy and suffering.
Thankfully, we are invited to reunite with God in Heaven, where the suffering will cease, and the joy will reign.
What's My Purpose?
If you’re like most people, you’ve found yourself staring at the ceiling, late at night, wondering what to do with your life.
Probably, you want to live a happy life. The good news is that God wants you to live a happy life too. In fact, He wants you to live in peace, love, and joy, now and especially in Heaven.
Our mission, then, is to know, love, and serve God. How each person does that is totally different for everyone.
Some people live lives devoted to prayer, like St. Therese of Liseux.
Some people live lives devoted to service, like St. Mother Teresa.
Some people become famous and use their fame for good, like Venerable Archbishop Fulton Sheen.
Some people live quiet lives, and not much is known about them, like St. Joseph.
Spend some time in prayer, asking God to show you how He wants you to know, love, and serve him.
Where Do I Fit in?
Am I welcome in the Church? Would they even want me? The answer is yes!
Remember, that you are made in the “image and likeness of God” - Genesis 1:26-27
Without you, your unique personality, humor, skills, and gifts, part of God’s image is missing on Earth.
That doesn’t mean you have to give up everything else you like. You can still play sports, make music, enjoy video games. But it means you can fit all these hobbies into a life with God and His Church.
So yeah, not only are you welcome, but we kinda need you! It's time to enter into a life with God and his Church.

Classes are typically every other week (about twice a month).- Participate in Mass at 5:00 PM every Sunday
- Attend class after Mass – 7:30 PM every other Sunday
- When not attending class, students will be responsible to serve at Mass
- Attend Confirmation Retreat
- Year 1: One-day retreat (Jan 29th, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM)
- Year 2: Weekend retreat (Friday, Nov 4th - Sunday, Nov 6th)
- Complete 2 Service Events (Service Opportuntities are Offered Through the Program)
- One must be done in the Parish
- One must be done outside the Parish
- Select a Sponsor
- Choose a Confirmation Saint and Complete a Saint Report (2nd Year Only)
- Participate in 1 Fundraiser
- Attend Orientation Meeting
- Participate in Sunday Mass with your teen
- Attend scheduled Parent Classes once a month
- Complete service hours as security and/or at Saint Anthony’s Café
- Comply with all registration requirements
- Participate in monthly House Church activities with your teen
A Confirmation sponsor is someone who serves as a model in the faith and a friend who can walk the journey of faith with the Confirmandi (Student).
A Confirmation sponsor must fulfill these four requirements:- Not be a parent of the Confirmand (but can be a sibling, cousin, etc.)
- Be 16 years of age or older
- Have received the Sacrament of Confirmation him/herself
- Be a practicing Catholic (for those who are married, this includes being married in the Church)
These requirements must be certified by the sponsor's pastor. The potential sponsor can take this form to his/her pastor to be signed and returned to our office.
Lastly, the sponsor should:- attend the Confirmation class on October 16th,
- pray regularly for their Confirmandi, and
- meet from time to time with their Confirmandi. Consider taking them out to lunch or coffee!
The First-year Retreat will be held on Sunday, January 29th from 10:00am - 6:00pm and hosted by NET Ministries, an organization which, for the last 40 years, has served the Church by hosting thousands of Catholic retreats throughout the country. The retreats are run by young, well-formed missionaries who are able to relate to our teens easily. Every year, the missionaries need a place to stay for a night or two when they come into town. If you'd like to consider housing a few of the NET Missionaries yourself, let us know here. Doing so is a great way to give back and bring the faith into your own home.
Lunch will be provided on retreat, and the retreat will conclude after the 5:00 mass.Where: St. Edward Retreat Center

When: Friday, Nov 4th - Sunday, Nov 6th
What: At this weekend Confirmation retreat, students will grow closer to one another and be offered invitations to hear about Christ in a new way, and offered the chance to encounter Him for perhaps the first time in their lives. The retreat is high-energy and is commonly the highlight of the Confirmation experience for students.
Transportation: Students and chaperones will depart from St. Anthony's Friday evening and return Sunday afternoon by bus.

There is an additional $25 fee for any student who also needs Reconciliation and First Communion preparation.
No family should stay away because of financial concerns. We are always willing to work with families in financial need.
